A heart that beats, that propels life in a body which in turn undulates, twirls. Mandala fascinates the viewer with its hypnotic rhythm, accompanied by the powerful music of Michael Gordon.
In the circle of the ensō (ultimately meaning circle), which perfectly symbolizes both the universe and artistic gesture, it also makes reference to the crop circles, these circular patterns which appear in wheat fields. Geometric manifestations with mysterious origins, they seem to be messages emitted by a force of the spirit, perhaps from elsewhere, trying to remind us of the pieces of the unknown remaining all around us.
Sara Orselli gives substance to this solo that represents the culmination of the complicity established over more than a decade with Carolyn Carlson.

Carolyn Carlson prefers to use the term “visual poetry” to “choreography”, while describing her work. She uses dance, writing and calligraphy as means of expressing poetry. She has been publishing poetry books for many years, Le Soi et le rien (Actes Sud 2002), Solo poèmes et encres (Alternatives 2003), Inanna (2007), Brins d’herbe (Actes Sud 2011), Dialogue avec Rothko (Invenit 2011), Traces d’encre (Actes Sud, 2013) and most recently Writings on water, from the name of the eponymous exhibition of her drawings and inks in Roubaix in the summer 2017 (Actes Sud, 2017).
