  • Jam Hotel

The Jam Hotel is a new 78-room hotel combining the luxury of lavish suites with the practicality of a dormitory able to host ten people. Brutalist architecture, preserved in this building renovated in the 1970s, is blended with the warmth of unfinished wood and the bright colours of the works of art on display throughout the hotel. From an interior decorating, design, and layout standpoint, a swimming pool, game room, two bars, and a restaurant create a whole intended to be innovative in terms of decor, ambiance, and conviviality in keeping with the traditional spirit of a hotel chain.

A few facts and figures: after six months: occupancy rate of 70 to 75%, 18-person dorm with an appealing rate of €18 per night

  • DRUUM 'Contemporary Bed & Breakfast'

DRUUM is a ‘Contemporary Bed & Breakfast’ in a magnificent town house at Hopstraat 63, 1000 Brussels, in one of the most mystic and historic areas in the centre of Brussels, the so-called Duivelshoek (meaning Devil's Corner). Karine and Jo were enchanted by the unique building and its history, and came up with a concept to emphasize the building's worth. DRUUM has been designed as an interactive, artistic bed & breakfast in which each of the 6 guest rooms has been designed by an artist or group of artists. The guest rooms are conceived as contemporary works of art, creating very special interaction between art, creativity, space and history, in turn generating the most inspiring surroundings. Each artist was given ‘carte blanche’ allowing creative freedom to prevail in the project. In this way rooms were created with circus lights, or an experimental noise zone, or as a private gallery complete with a concrete bed, etc. The result is stunning and gives tourists the possibility to enjoy a unique experience in an artistic and historic universe. On top of all that, each guest staying at DRUUM supports the artists, as a percentage of each night's accommodation is given to the artist.
