October: Brussels Fashion Month

Belgian talent is on show in October! In Brussels, creativity reflects the art of living: inventive, and even extravagant. Brussels fashion is of high quality and rich in these qualities; and produces collections that stand the test of time. The architects of Brussels design continue to push the envelope of inventiveness by combining improbable substances and materials.

But the capital is much more than a crossroads for creative influences: Brussels can also be secretive and exclusive, shyly revealing the extent of its talents, but exporting them to the four corners of the world. October is the month to celebrate our own talent. The programme includes fashion shows, exhibitions, conferences, screenings, sales... a string of events where creativity takes centre stage. See the details of these unmissable events below!

  • The Dressing Room - 08.10.2017

  • The Dressing Room, the biggest clear-out in Brussels invites you to the BIP! In this new edition, over 40 exhibitors will present the best of their wardrobes ready for a new lease on life. • This extraordinary exhibition by Jean-Paul Lespagnard will take place at the Museum of Costume and lace. Discover the effects that contemporary art pieces (Wim Delvoye, Jan Fabre, Mehdi-Georges Lalou), popular culture objects (Delft, Manneken- Pis), and stylists’ pieces from the museum’s collections (Olivier Theyskens, Courrèges) had on the creator’s work. It’s a different look at fashion and its inspiration.
