A relatively unknown story: the Busleydens in Brussels

It is impossible to talk about the history of Mechelen or Leuven without mentioning the Busleyden family. However, did you know that they also played a significant role in the history of Brussels? This piece of history illustrates how important our city had become, even though the aunt of the future emperor Charles V preferred to reside in Mechelen. Roel Jacobs will be happy to fill this gap in our collective memory of Brussels (in French or Dutch).
