Renaissance weekend at the Maison du Roi

Renaissance weekend at the Maison du Roi

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the 1500s. To mark the occasion, the museum’s staff will welcome you dressed in traditional Ommegang garments! Take part in the short, guided tour, delve into the history of Brussels – a city well protected by fortifications – and explore the Coudenberg Palace. Uncover the beauty of a tapestry cartoon with a torch in hand. Listen to our storytellers recount the legends of Charles V. Experience this adventure with the whole family - enjoy unlimited access to the museum, get dressed in traditional outfits, rebuild the old Maison du Roi and recreate sculptures as well as a painting by Jan Bruegel. Journey back in time and listen to Renaissance music with the Cannamella ensemble. The icing on the cake? A competition offers you the chance to win various prizes by going in search of the traces of Charles V in the Maison du Roi.
