Review of the Association Summer Event 2019

Review of the Association Summer Event 2019

More than fourty association professionals from various sectors met on 10 July 2019 for a discovery event combining what Brussels has to offer in terms of hospitality, education and support for international associations. For this special event, we partnered with organisations which are used to work with associations and let them the opportunity to give a taste of what they can offer.

The Association Summer Event was an opportunity to:

  • Gather 40 associations professionals
  • Enjoy 1 tailored-made tour of Brussels
  • Meet people at 3 networking activities
  • Receive focused knowledge at 3 education sessions
  • Get to know Brussels suppliers

The one-day tour started in the Brussels City center at the Maison du Tour, the central operational point of the recently hosted Tour de France, where attendees got to know each other through a quiz organised in teams. Some had the chance to win wine passes for EAT.brussels! Afterwards they moved from the city center to the European Quarter and to Louise area during the day.

Three hotels graciously hosted the event. A lunch with an additional activity took place at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel where MPI gave a session about food waste in the MICE industry, a coffee break at Citadines Toison d’Or with a session by ESAE, and an afterwork drink at Pentahotel Brussels City Center.

When legal issues can be explained in a "cool" summer mode  was the challenge adressed successfully by  Osborne Clarke International Legal Practice, when a session about the new Belgian Code on Companies and Associations at the law firm premises. A touch of sweetness marked the middle of the adventure with the visit of the chocolate atelier of Laurent Gerbaud.

We're glad we could share a drink with all of you at the end of the day and provide a small bit of thanks for all of our partners. We were excited to see 60% of the attendees were newcomers to our events. A special thanks to our guide from Itinéraires who brought us from place to place and gave highlights of different visited Brussels areas.
