It seems as if in Anderlecht everything resolves around the figure of Guidon. He was a saint who lived around the year 1000 and who was venerated by the Anderlecht people with processions and fairs. After all, he was the patron saint of merchants, cattle dealers, and farmers. Guidon has definitely left his mark on the commune, since there is still a great deal of historical heritage to be found: St Guidon Church, the beguinage, the Erasmus House... Does that all sound a bit boring? Then you might like this other aspect of the commune: Anderlecht, the commune with the biggest growth in population, is also the home of the RSC Anderlecht football club, where spectacle on and sometimes off the field is guaranteed.
