  • Musical spring

In Brussels, spring returns with music! See you at the Botanique on 8/03, 11/03, 05/04 and 08/04 for the famous Botakids, an event tailor-made for youngsters, with a guided tour of the current exhibition and a pop-rock concert! In March, enjoy the various concerts programmed as part of Kidzik. Various venues in Brussels will reverberate to the sound of singers and shows for children.

From 15 to 21 April, Hopla will be pitching its tents near Place Sainte-Catherine. You can enjoy great circus acts, amusing shows and juggling with a circus attribute for free.

Get your fill of nature this spring

Spring is also the ideal time to watch nature wake up and enjoy the first rays of sunshine. First stop: the playgrounds! In Brussels, there are about 300 playgrounds (yes, 300!), so you're spoilt for choice! You might not know this, but there are a few places in our beautiful capital where you can see farm animals! That's the case at the Nos Pilifs Farm and at the farm of Maximilien Park. Could you say hello to the donkeys for me? The end of April also marks the reopening of Sortilège! This life-size medieval game takes you through the woods and includes several challenges (balance course, sword-fighting, zip-line, ...), where you will meet brave knights and a witch who may be more friendly than you think! But don't take our word for it, go down there and make up your own mind!

Looking to give your kids a taste of culture?

There is also no shortage of cultural events in the spring. In March, there's the BANAD Festival, which lets you and your family discover the most beautiful Art Nouveau and Art Deco houses in the capital. On 28 and 29 March, BOZAR awaits you and your children for the Keith Haring Family Weekend. It can also be discovered on other dates as part of a special guided tour for families special guided tour for families! You can visit the Halle Gate Museum for a Bruegel-themed virtual visit or the Belgian Comic Strip Centre to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Billy and Buddy. And why not explore the Coudenberg or the BELvue, a little birdie tells me there might be some easter eggs hidden there… (but make sure you book!)

    The sciences are moving!

Science isn't really your thing, and you (or your children?) just can't seem to get your head around it? Then you need to head down to the I Love Science Festival from 24 to 26 April! It's a unique opportunity to discover science in a fun way, with experiments and demonstrations... It's being held at Brussels Expo, and it's free!

    Fun, fun, and more fun!

Are you always confusing auks and penguins? If so, come experience a quick photo and video immersion at the Antarctica exhibition at the Museum of Natural Sciences. Then, take advantage of your visit to the Museum to discover the new gallery! "Living Planet" will open at the beginning of April and it will be an opportunity to see more than a thousand specimens in a dynamic and modern scenography dedicated to biodiversity and the interaction between species. Just wow!

And last but not least, don't miss Brussels' funnest springtime family events: The Iris Festival (beginning of May) and the SuperVliegSuperMouche festival ( in mid June).
