A handful of histories

This guided dramatised tour invites you on an urban exploration, to rediscover our streets and the anecdotes whispered behind the doors of our homes… What will we be looking for? Details: the minor, the personal, the hidden. Without you, we would never find our way. The tour starts with a riddle. With the help of clues and guided by three comical, whimsical characters, you will walk down a number of typical Ixelles streets on the search for the key to history. A surprise awaits you at the corner of every street.
Intended as a fun, friendly ramble, during this exhibition and walking tour around Ixelles Ponds you will be focusing your attention on door handles, those unsung everyday objects. By focusing your gaze on these understated gems of Brussels’s architectural heritage, you will discover that there is beauty everywhere, even in the smallest details of our buildings. Each lock has a history…
Three times a day, the three actors from Compagnie Le Bus will accompany you on this extraordinary excursion, on the hunt for architectural heritage. Drawings by the artist Jonathan Rabbe will be exhibited in the street for the occasion.
Do you have a burning desire to find out what goes on behind the doors of your neighbours’ houses? Meet at the Square du Souvenir/Gedachtenissquare to start the tour and embark on an exciting adventure.

A partnership between La Compagnie Le Bus and Jonathan Rabbe, an architect and designer.
