Britt Hatzius Listening Distance

Listening Distance is a technical term used to describe the ideal listening position between two audio speakers. This immersive audio-visual installation offers an encounter with someone who has learnt to echolocate; a technique of sensing things at a distance through hearing. The audience dives into the world of acoustics, where hearing becomes another way of seeing and the echo turns into an existential form of communication with our environment.

Britt Hatzius (DE/UK) works in film, video, sound and performance. Her work has been shown internationally at performance and media arts festivals, institutions and galleries. Thomas Tajo (IN/BE) is a researcher, thinker and blindness activist and consultant.
