Some 450 years ago, in the 16th century, Pieter Bruegel the Elder stayed here in Brussels. The route that retraces this great artist's everyday life starts in the upper and leads to the lower parts of the city. The emphasis of this walk is on the process of civilisation, with focus on the changes in the eating, drinking, sleeping and clothing habits during Bruegel's era and the impact of etiquette books on human behaviour. This context is also reflected in Bruegel's work. Everyone receives a booklet after the walk.
