Brussels in 1914 -1918: Everyday life during the war

reach the capital on the 20st of August. This walk will take you along the rue Royal to the Grand Place where the Germans, in their shining uniforms, take the heart of Belgium. This doesn’t happen without any resistance. Indeed, Gabrielle Petit and Adolphe Max stand between the people. Even though there aren’t any trenches in Brussels there is a hard-fought battle with scathing words, creative acts of resistance and Brussels jest/claptrap. Warm august days flushed with bittersweet Geuze, because the war isn’t over yet!
