Visit to Van Eetvelde House and its surroundings. As the Secretary General of the Congo, Van Eetvelde wanted a spacious home. His progressive nature prompted him to ask Victor Horta to create it for him. The luxurious interior is designed to host official engagements for the political milieu. The house, built in 1895, has been gradually expanded. The luxurious interior is bathed in a sea of light and overlooks the ponds of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, giving it the feel of living in an English garden. Around the squares, we find works by important Art Nouveau architects including Gustave Strauven, Paul Saintenoy, Paul Hamesse, Georges Hobé... Almost every facade in the neighbourhood exudes its own style and personality, and is incomparably elegant.
