Heavenly Symphonies Float Over the Beguinage Church

On the occasion of the Heritage Days, a new wind will be blowing through the nave of the Beguinage Church. Brussels-based musicians Matthieu Ha and Maïa Aboueleze, along with guests Cayo Scheyven, Étienne Gilbert, Antoine Herran and Daniel Dariel, will perform a unique, eclectic concert at the Beguinage Church, combining organ, Japanese drums, flute, song and accordion. The powerful rhythms of the taiko will encounter the organ, that guardian of the silent naves, and the timeless music of  Brussels’s most alternative musicians. The echoing acoustics of the Beguinage Church will serve as an active partner in the performance. Entering the church will be a full-blown sensory, auditory and visual experience. Audience members will discover this precious example of Brussels’s 17th century architectural heritage as they wander around during the concert, with each person enjoying a different experience thanks to the magic of the echoes.

A partnership between Maïa Aboueleze, Matthieu Ha, Cayo Scheyven, Étienne Gilbert, Emiko Ota, Nori Kajio and the Church of Saint John the Baptist at the Beguinage.
