The storytelling guides from Educateam/Arts & Culture, both deaf and hearing, will enchant you with their tales. The stories are usually recounted simultaneously in sign language and French, in front of paintings and sculptures, in a choreographed arrangement that combines visual works, mime and poetry in the two languages. The Maison Jamaer is opening its doors for the Heritage Days, and this Flemish neo-Renaissance style mansion will give a different, fairytale quality to the stories. Story and fantasy will combine to echo the unique architecture of this handsome edifice. The story-telling duos will recount two different tales; the first will be a “traditional” fairytale, while the second will be a tale typical of Brussels. Indeed, Brussels has given rise to many tales and stories, illustrating the city’s rich culture and heritage.
