With the Colonial park, Sobieski park and the Jardins du Fleuriste, you'll visit no less than three exceptional adjacent green spaces on this walk. Before they were open to the public, these parks were the personal property of Léopold II: the first being an acclimatisation garden for Léopold's colonial projects in the Congo, the second was the palace orchard, and the third was used to produce flowers to decorate the Royal apartments. With nod to their original function, each garden has been restored in line with the topography and situation of each property. The history of the sites and of the renovations that they underwent from the 1960s to convert them into public parks, will be explained in detail during the walk and at the end of your visit you will discover a stunning panoramic view of the city and its suburbs.
