Visiting the Hemicycle

Students are welcomed by a speaker for a visit which takes place in two phases and which is adapted to the age of the students. In order to estimate the level of knowledge and define the content of the conference-debate, students are invited to participate in a little quizz about the European Union. Then they discover the functionning of the European institutions and of the European Parliament, and participate in the debate supported by different media tools, such as pictures and videos adapted to the age of the participants. The added-value of the European integration as well as the current challenges are also presented and debated. After that, students are taken to the Hemicycle gallery. If there is a plenary session, they can attend. Otherwise, the speaker will present them the different practical aspects related to the Hemicycle, such as the functionning of interpretation, debates and votes. Going to the visitors gallery often allows for an open discussion in which students feel confortable to participate and ask questions.
