In light of the new feminist movements that have taken the witch
as an emblem of their revolt, we explore what this figure covers,
feared and persecuted in ancient times, then gradually became a
character from myths and tales before integrating pop imaginaries
culture, and finally symbolize current feminine demands.
This is an unprecedented and yet essential subject in the understanding of
the image and status of women in our societies since the end of the Middle Ages
until our days. And the character of the witch lives largely in our
imaginary than our childhood memories or cultural references.
