Women's Walk

Women's Walk

A walk that puts you in touch with characters who have left their mark on history and who are still largely unknown or remain in the shadows, including Marie Popelin (founder of the League for Women's Rights), resilient women including Gabriëlle Petit, writers such as Charlotte Brontë, Irène Hamoir and Marguerite Yourcenar. We explain the work of women from the Middle Ages to the present day. We also discuss recluses and beguines. We look out for statues, street names and squares that refer to remarkable ladies. A walk between the Sablon and the Grand Béguinage.
