Zoot Woman

13/10/2017 - 13/10/2017

Following a sold out European tour and festival appearances around the world, Zoot Woman headed back to the studio to begin work on the tracks that would become the album ‘Absence’. Adam Blake, Johnny Blake & Stuart Price release their latest full-length album on June 16th worldwide. Described by singer Johnny as “our most sincere and personal album so far”. As with their first release ‘Living In A Magazine’, Zoot Woman continue with ‘Absence’ to display an inherent timelessness and their own modern aesthetic.
The band’s fifth album features 11 tracks. Kicking off with the infectious single 'Solid Gold’, followed by the introspective 'Ordinary Face', regretfuelled ‘I Said It Again' and 60’s soul inspired 'Haunt Me'. Adding to the arsenal of synthpop, a contribution from Kylie Minogue who features on the epic ballad ’Still Feels Like The First Time'. From an early age, Zoot Woman have defied changes in the music industry, performing to dedicated Zoot fans everywhere. Adam and Stuart share production duties, melding elements of rock, 80’s and 90’s pop with electronica. The resulting sound contains some of the most uplifting pop melodies they’ve ever delivered, proving them to be genre-defying artists for the 21st century.
On to the artwork. London designer Ben Rigby guides us through ‘an anatomy of an album sleeve’. A stark design of blue and red, the front cover indicated as such by the words ‘front cover’ and so on throughout the sleeve. In the final album track ‘You Said The Day Would Come’ Blake sings, “captivated one by one”. And as if by magic, each track does just that.
