The “Old Market” was created in 1873 on the Place du Jeu de Balle, its name derived from the handball games that were often played on the square.
Since then, this “market of old” continued its activities there. This is how junkers, ragmen, 1960s generation, and antique dealers of diverse backgrounds have made (and are still making) a living under all weather conditions and historical changes.
An active tradition turned modern, this worthy activity in the picturesque market is important due to its conviviality and ecology friendly attitude through recycling.
It is a an open-air flea market where no foods are sold, but the market on the Jeu de Balle square is so much more. It is a whole experience!
The square itself is beautiful. You can absorb the harmony of the space, take a stroll under the shadowy leaves while listening to birds chirping, or grab a bite in the reinstated old fire station.
