A little bit of history…
The SQUARE - BRUSSELS CONVENTION CENTRE originally housed the medieval palace of the Dukes of Brabant, and went on to become a centre of European power. It was here, in fact, that Leopold I, first King of Belgium, was sworn in on 21 July 1831.
As of 1958, year of the World’s Fair, the venue was named the Brussels Congress Centre and transformed with the aim of hosting events. It was the first of its kind in Europe at the time.
Since 1958, the Mont des Arts has housed SQUARE - BRUSSELS CONVENTION CENTRE and the Royal Library of Belgium.
SQUARE - BRUSSELS CONVENTION CENTRE in numbers:
