Among the latest newcomers to the Brussels gallery scene is Stems Gallery, which was launched at the beginning of 2015 by Pascaline and Guillaume Smets. The gallery aims to focus on young, upcoming talent and has a penchant for American artists like Zach Reini, Leon Benn, and Matt Connolly and the New York-based Greek artist Panos Tsagaris, known for work in which he overpaints the texts on the front page of the New York Times with gold paint. The gallery often chooses to work with curators. Hence, its opening show – which brought together a varied mix of artists, from Jack Lavender to Henning Bohl and Ben Vautier – was curated by Rob Tufnell.
