Let's stay green!
Martin’s Hotels’ ambition is to grow by acting for the benefit of future generations, while taking care of our guests, ensuring the well-being of our staff, supporting humanitarian and social causes, and preserving our property assets and the environment. An Environmental Management System (EMS) allows all companies who wish to embrace sustainable development to reduce the impact of their activities on the planet. That is the case for Martin’s Hotels, the only hotel group in Belgium to have been awarded EMAS and ISO 14001 certification. In line with its global sustainable development programme ‘Tomorrow Needs Today’, Martin’s Hotels guarantees the carbon neutrality of all events organized in its 10 hotels for businesses keen to reduce their environmental impact. We have set up a sustainable development project so that we can act more effectively in the interest of the planet and future generations by involving our guests in this wholly voluntary project by suggesting some simple and useful things they can do during their stay. By doing so, guests can earn Eco Vouchers which can be accumulated every time they stay at one of the Martin’s Hotels and which can be exchanged for Martin’s Gift Vouchers. Winner of the Caius Culture SME prize in 2012, particularly for its involvement in the Musica Mundi courses and festival, Martin's Hotels has always supported many charitable, educational and humanitarian organizations, most of which work with children and youth. By ordering tea and coffee in one of our 10 hotels, guests are making an ACTIVE contribution. In fact we donate 25 cents on your behalf for every cup consumed. One hundred per cent of guests’ contribution is paid to these three associations. Moreover, thanks also in part to our efforts, the company Rombouts buys thirty tonnes of fair-trade coffee in the same Great Lakes region (Congo-Rwanda) from www.comequi.org, a company specializing in fair trade.
