Choose one of our activities that are specially conceived for families and to help you (re)discover Brussels in a fun way. Adults, children and/or teenagers will have to team up to answer questions and overcome numerous challenges. Around the World in 19 Communes

Set off to encounter a multitude of cultures that make up the ginat mosaic that is Brussels: 183 nationalities – from near and far – living together and sharing customs and traditions… you can almost travel around the world without leaving Brussels!
This activity will help you to learn a whole host of interesting things about the people that make Brussels a truly multicultural region.

Every child receives a booklet in the shape of a suitcase. Armed with their luggage, they set off to meet the inhabitants of Brussels by taking on several challenges. Each challenge lets them collect globe-trotter stickers and find the code they need to unlock their padlock!

Target audience: This game is great for children aged 8 to 12 years old.

The Explorer

This specially conceived activity for families lets you travel through a region that's full of surprises. Adults and children team up to answer questions and overcome numerous challenges. After this exploration that lasts just under two hours, your little budding explorers will know everything there is to know about Brussels.

Armed with their booklet, they will have fun discovering the geography of Brussels, learning about the inhabitants and birds found in the region, and also exploring the European Union in Brussels. They will (re)familiarise themselves with the region's history and legends and the etymology of certain places. This activity alternates cleverly between moments of play, drawing, searching for information and crafts and lets everyone, children and parents alike, to learn while having fun.

eB! Quiz

The quiz broaches various fascinating subjects. The geography, history, environment and institutions of Brussels, along with its status as capital of Europe, reveal themselves bit by bit.

How did a little provincial town become the capital city of some 500 million Europeans? Which metro lines run under the city's old medieval walls? What is the region's highest point? How did the word for mongrel become a term of endearment? Which Brussels inhabitants have received a Nobel Prize? You find out all this and more thanks to crosswords, a large model of the city, story-telling umbrellas and a labyrinth. So, are you ready to take on the challenges and be amazed?

Target audience: This game is great for youngsters aged 12 years old and above.

Useful information

The booklets are on sale 7 days a week from the exhibition's ticket office, and participants who have successfully completed every challenge will receive a little reward!
