House of European History: opens in 2017

To provide the visitor with a better understanding of the upheavals of the 20th century, the permanent exhibition will first dwell on the ideas and convictions that characterized the 20th century, which mark "Europe's entry into modernity", before looking into the continent's slide into war and destruction. It will then deal with the matter of the search for a better life in an ever more unified Europe. Visitors will be encouraged to reflect on the Europe of today, the situation and place of the European Union and the role everyone can play to shape their own future.
