EN/ The huge increase in the amount of waste produced is one of the most important challenges of our time.

According to a recent report of the World Bank, the amount of waste produced worldwide will increase with 70% by 2050, if no urgent action is taken. Plastic waste in particular will continue to pollute oceans, rivers and other ecosystems for thousands of years. This situation has only worsened in the context of the pandemic, that has led to an increase of plastic production.

Currently, 34% of all waste is generated in developed countries (where only 16% of the population lives).

In collaboration with photo agency MAPS, Géopolis is dedicating an exhibition to this crucial issue. The exhibition includes two photo exhibitions and one educational exhibition designed by Géopolis and NGO Bellona.
