The museum is a tool intended for teachers, students, researchers and naturalists. Since its creation in the 19th century, many specimens have been added to its collections, representing all of today’s zoological groups. More than a thousand items are permanently displayed to the public, all following a central thread: the evolution of animal species (including the human species), and the organisms’ particular adaptation. One highlight is the impressing coelacanth specimen, caught in 1981.
