Laurentiu Bunescu - CEO, Telecentre Europe
Laurentiu Bunescu is the CEO of Telecentre Europe, overseeing the strategic development of the organisation, the development of existing and new partnerships, and the growth of membership. Laurentiu has been involved in the European telecentres movement since 2005. He joined Telecentre Europe as Project Manager in early 2008, where he managed a number of projects including the annual Get Online Week campaign.
Before Telecentre Europe, Laurentiu started one of the first telecentres in Romania, and became a facilitator and supporter of the Romanian national network of telecentres. With a strong background in the non-profit sector, Laurentiu’s early experience in Eastern European grassroots community development provides a major insight in understanding the network of community telecentres across the whole of Europe.
Keep up the pace with the digital transformation
Over the years, Telecentre Europe was guided by its core values and the strategic goals defined through our strategic plans. But in a fast-changing digital society, our association needs to keep pace and redefine itself towards new challenges and opportunities. This presentation is about how Telecentre Europe has developed as an association in a changing environment, by constantly understanding and adapting the changes and by keeping its core values. Strategic planning, rebranding and repositioning are the three main areas addressed by the presentation, through practical examples on how each of them was dealt with.
- Strategic planning is important for any association, especially in relation to challenges and opportunities resulting from the digital transformation
- Rebranding is a key process that creates a new identity for your association, that needs to reflect the new vision and strategic priorities
- Positioning/repositioning of the association drives clarity – both inside (members and staff) and outside (stakeholders and partners)
