Professional organisations Bapco and Febelux are joining forces in order to work together towards their common goals : defending the interests of their members and promoting the live communication sector. This crucial step fits perfectly with Febelux’s ambition and strategic vision of unifying the sector and becoming the essential partner in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Febelux, the Association for the Live Communication Industry, currently has 110 members (organisers, sites, stand constructors and suppliers) from the exhibition sector. Bapco, the Belgian Association of Professional Congress Organisers, brings together 12 members from the convention sector.
Earlier this year, the two organisations merged into one association under the name Febelux.
Frédéric François, president of Febelux since June 2015, will retain this position in the new structure.
"Combining our strengths gives us more weight as an organisation in the defence of our common interests. The consolidation of our network increases our impact and strengthens our contacts with the authorities and official bodies," explained Frédéric François. "Our common budget will also increase, which will allow us to provide better support to our members. Among other things, it will be used for communication and marketing actions."
The outgoing president of Bapco, Baudouin Guyot, added : "This merger seems a natural alliance to us in the sense that our various businesses are close to and complement one another. We are confident that our membership of Febelux will accelerate the federation’s development into an umbrella organisation for all professions within the live communication sector."
