Stylianos Filopoulos has been devoted to “Wine in Moderation” since its creation, developing this social responsibility programme at national and international level. When the non-profit international WiM Association saw the light of day, it was an honour for Stylianos to become the Managing Director of the organisation bringing the programme from a policy commitment to an international movement.
His long experience in the wider agro-food sector and his inter-disciplinary competencies enable his work, but it is his passion to drive change by bringing people together that motivates his actions.
Stylianos appreciates fine taste and enjoys sunny days with friends and family.
How to unite a fragmented and diversified sector?
The Wine in Moderation – Art de Vivre is an international wine sector programme to inspire healthy lifestyles and well-being, and to contribute to the reduction of alcohol related harm. It was originally launched in 2008 as the European wine sector's tangible contribution to the European alcohol and health strategy. Following the success of this programme commitment, the European wine sector and leading wine companies, founded the international non-profit WiM Association to centrally coordinate, report the performance and outcome, and expand the reach and impact of the programme throughout the world. Today, Wine in Moderation campaigns have been developed in more than 25 countries around the world and structured national Wine in Moderation programmes exist in 12 countries in Europe & South America. The programme has been recognised as a good practice and has received awards, funding and references at international, European and national levels.
The presentation is aiming to showcase the transition from a policy commitment to an international programme, that is centrally coordinated but implemented locally respecting national needs and cultural diversity. It will also demonstrate how to engage a fragmented, diverse and competitive sector and enable/motivate them to tangible social responsibility action.
