The meeting is held every year in March.
The International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine is organized by the Departments of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine of Erasme University Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles, in association with the Belgian Society of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (SIZ).
Multiple session formats – meet the expert, pro/con debates, round tables, workshops, tutorials, lectures – are used by an international faculty of more than 200 experts in their field to provide the audience with an essential update in all the most recent, clinically relevant, developments in research, therapy, and management of the critically ill.
The meeting is open to all physicians, nurses and other health professionals with an interest in critical care or emergency medicine and every year participants attend from more than 102 countries worldwide. The chance to meet with colleagues from hospitals and ICUs around the world and exchange local practice and experience is an important feature of this meeting.
The accompanying scientific exhibition provides participants with a chance to view the very latest technological advances, equipment and interventions.
