The Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles are strongly represented in the decorative arts, especially in bookbinding and cover illustrations. Famous architects and designers such as Henry van de Velde and Pierre Legrain designed motifs, lines and shapes for book covers and illustrations. In this exhibition of around twenty books from its collection, the Bibliotheca Wittockiana will show visitors the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco. This is an exceptionally rare chance for members of the public to see these books, which are normally stored in the reserve collection.
