In the wake of Lulu, our November Concertini pay ample attention to the Second Viennese School, culminating in a performance of Alban Berg's Kammerkonzert conducted by our Music Director Alain Altinoglu. Curious about how a sex scandal can inspire chamber music? Discover it in the concertante paraphrase of Powder Her Face, an opera about the life of the "Dirty Duchess" of Argyll, written by Thomas Adès – who is currently composer in residence in Brussels. August De Boeck, Belgian guest of honour at the symphonic concert on November 28th, joins his compatriots in a programme of brass music made in our country. And the final word this month is for the young guns of our MM Academy!
