Coronavirus: supports and informs the tourism sector

Within the framework of the Coronavirus crisis management a Brussels Region Task Force has been established, with a first meeting held on 4 March 2020. is a member of this group. Since then this taskforce meets every week.

The objectives of this Task Force are to: 

  • make the evaluation of the socio-economic impact of COVID-19,  
  • hold a regular monitoring of the situation,  
  • analyse the measures to be put in place to support the sector. undertakes to share all the questions, needs and demands of the sector with the Task Force. For this purpose, meetings shall be held with the partners in parallel. A first meeting was held on 11 March. Other meetings will be organised on a regular basis in order to share information and encourage the dialogue and consultation between the sector representatives.

  • Recovery plan - working groups continues its regular activities. The situation is regularly monitored and may change from day to day. Together with the tourism related sector, we work towards a recovery plan that may be rapidly implemented as soon as the situation allows it.   

    In the coming days, we want to bring together, by video conference, working groups around 5 target audiences.

    The tourist information offices of, located on Place Royale and Grand Place, as well as the exhibition and the convention centre located at the BIP will be closed until 19 April. The guided tours of the City Hall of Brussels are cancelled until 19 April.

    All the professional events organised between now and 19 April by or at the BIP convention centre are cancelled or postponed.
