Davi Kaur, Head of Communications - European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer,EORTC
Graduating from the University of Wales College of Cardiff in 1993 with an Honorary Degree in Applied Biology, Davi joined the Institute of Nephrology at University of Wales College of Medicine, where her research focused on the effects of peritoneal dialysis fluid on inflammation where she gained master’s in philosophy.
In 2000 she shifted her professional sights to organising medical and scientific conferences in cancer. For seventeen years, Davi has worked for ECCO - the European CanCer Organisation where she firstly supported and advised scientific committees in developing well balanced conferences of excellence and then headed the Congress Unit, where she oversaw the organisation of a number of conferences with an international participation ranging from 600 to 19,000 participants with a team of 12 people. She has presented at several association management meetings on innovate meeting and session designs.
She has been also the Secretary General of EBC Council, the European Breast Cancer Council, supporting its activities towards its member societies. She has also been involved in several FP7 EU projects to provide scientific support and facilitate the dissemination of results from the projects to oncology professionals.
She is now the Head of Communication for EORTC, European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer. Her main role is to develop the internal and external communication strategy for the organisation. She currently serves on the PCMA (Professional Conference Management Association) advisory board and recently completed a Master of Business Administration degree at Vlerick Business School.
