Velma Knowles MBA, CME is the Founder and Chief Encouraging Officer of Leaders Pathway, and is a published best-selling author, certified leadership coach, business strategist who specializes in building leaders, transforming teams and making a positive impact on the world.
Velma is on a mission to help leaders grow and build productive teams so their business can grow. Her core philosophy of leadership is this: “Leadership isn’t about building great companies, it’s about building valuable leaders who build great companies.”
Born and raised on the island of New Providence in the city of Nassau in the Bahamas, she came to the United States after launching a successful personal college fundraising campaign, which raised over $100,000.
She received a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Webber International University in the small town of Babson Park, Florida. After moving to the west coast of Florida, she earned her MBA from the University of Tampa. Her education also includes advanced executive training from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Bradley University, Disney Institute, and both the American Management Association, and the American Marketing Association.
She is the former membership and marketing association executive with over two decades of national and international experience, including Vice President of Member Experience with a multi-million-member association.
Velma serves on the Board of Directors for the National Speakers Association Central Florida Chapter as well as the Associate Dean for the Speaker’s Academy. An international keynote speaker who has presented in Australia, Canada, the Bahamas, and across the United States.
Her audiences vary from executive boards to elementary students and her expertise includes communication, leadership, team performance, marketing, and membership growth. When she is not helping leaders and organizations grow their members and teams, you can find her enjoying nature, watching birds, and photographing memorable moments. She is currently working on her second book in the Valuable Leader series.
